Do I have to be a CPOA member to attend?
No. Non-members are welcome to attend both the leadership sessions and the expo. CPOA Members receive a discount for training courses. To learn more about membership, click here.
What is the attire?
Class A uniforms are suggested for the Tuesday Awards ceremony, otherwise business casual is appropriate throughout the event.

What is included in the 3 Day training costs?
Tuesday, August 20 – Breakfast, training, lunch and Welcome Reception

Can I register on-site?
Yes. To save time we encourage you to pre-register online.
How do I get my name badge?
You can pick up your badge onsite at the registration desks. Skip the lines! Remember to bring your printed confirmation with the bar code for quick and easy scan-n-go badge processing.
Can my spouse / guest attend the 2019 ADVANCE Expo?
Spouses are welcome to social and after hour events and must register to attend. The ADVANCE Expo is restricted to qualified attendees.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Payment is accepted by credit card online as well as by check. Payment must be received before the conference.
How can I cancel my registration?
Training cancellations must be received in writing. Cancellations received by June 30, 2019 will be charged a $100 or $75 cancellation fee respective to a 3-Day or 2-Day registration. On July 1, 2019 any training registration canceled or a “no-shows” will not be refunded. If you cannot attend, we highly encourage a substitution.
I have registered for ADVANCE but unexpectedly will not be able to attend! Can I send someone in my place? How would I go about making this substitution?
Yes. Contact CPOA at email@example.com or call (916) 263-0541 as soon as possible to make the substitution. Note: Substitutions with varying membership status may incur additional registration fees.
What should I do if I have already registered but never received a

Will you be checking identification at the door of the exhibit hall?
Yes. Everyone must be wearing an official ADVANCE badge to enter the exhibit hall and all ADVANCE events.
What if I lose my badge at the ADVANCE?
Just ask one of the CPOA staff members at the Registration Desk to reprint your badge.

Is there a hotel I should contact?
Yes, CPOA is working with the local hotels. Hotel information is available in both the exhibitor and attendee center on the CPOA.org website.
There are several companies who may call you asking to assist with your hotel reservations. Please do not use these companies; they do not represent CPOA or ADVANCE.
How do I make hotel arrangements? Are there ADVANCE group rates?
Yes, there are limited government group discount rates. Hotel information is available in both the exhibitor and attendee centers on the CPOA.org website.
Where can I find travel information, including parking, airport

What is there to do in Long Beach after the event?
You can visit the Long Beach Visitors Bureau (www.visitlongbeach.com) for a list of everything there is to see in Long Beach, and you will find great coupons to attractions and restaurants at the registration desk at ADVANCE.
Does the registration fee include the Expo?
Yes. Entrance to the Expo is included in all registration packages. You must check-in at the ADVANCE registration desk and pick up your badge before entering the Expo.
When will the expo be held?
The Expo will be held on Wednesday, August 21 from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm and Thursday, August 22 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Long Beach Convention Center. Click here to see the full agenda.
What if I only want to attend the Expo?
When choosing a package on the registration form, you can select ‘Expo Only.’ This does NOT include any educational sessions or meals. You can also select social events as “add-on” to your Expo pass.
May I bring children into the exhibit hall?
Children under the age of 18 are not allowed into the hall. This is a credentialed show, all attendees must register and fully complete the registration form.
