Registration Policies:

Cancellations must be in writing. Cancellations received on or before March 5, 2024 will not be charged a cancellation fee. Cancellations received after March 5,  2024, and no show, will not be refunded. We highly recommend substitutions.

Photo and Video Policy

Photographs and video will be taken at the event for use on the CPOA website and in the press. By entering this event, you consent to CPOA photographing and using your image and likeness (both now and in the future).

ADVANCE Justification Pointers

 

You see the value in the education, networking and exhibitor discovery provided by 2022 ADVANCE, but your superiors may be unfamiliar. Introduce them to all the value your agency can gain through your attendance with the pointers below:

 

  • Create a personal agenda to be presented to your supervisor. In it, identify which breakout sessions you will attend and highlight how these sessions will benefit your agency.
  • Offer to deliver a short presentation upon your return summarizing what you’ve learned or prepare written briefs for colleagues on each session to spread the knowledge throughout your agency.
  • Share syllabi and handouts with your colleagues afterward.
  • Remind your superiors that the training earns you POST credit hours.
  • Offer to share a room with another agency employee to reduce hotel expenses.
  • Register early to qualify for discounted rates.
  • Take inventory of what supplies and technology your agency may need over the next year. Then, check out the exhibitor list to create a list of which companies can assist you in restocking, reconsidering current purchases and discovering new cost-cutting technology.
  • Present other benefits, such as networking to learn what other agencies of the same size are doing.

No. Non-members are welcome to attend the leadership sessions. CPOA Members receive a discount for training courses.

Once checked in, you do not need to check in a registration.  Be sure to keep your badge with you as it your access to the sessions and events.

Can I register on-site?

Yes, On-site registration will be available.  Please see a staff member at the CPOA registration area.

How do I get my name badge?

You can pick up your badge onsite at the registration desks. Please visit the desk according to your last name.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Payment is accepted by credit card online or by phone, (916) 263-0541, as well as by check.

Is payment required before I can attend?

Payment is not required before attendance, however, please submit payment as soon as possible.  Please ask a staff member if you need an invoice.

How can I cancel my registration?

Cancellations must be received in writing to cpoa@cpoa.org. Cancellations after March 8, 2024 or a “no-shows” will not be refunded (unless an incident of unforeseen event). If you cannot attend, we highly encourage a substitution.

I have registered for PSLS but unexpectedly will not be able to attend! Can I send someone in my place? How would I go about making this substitution?

Yes. Contact CPOA at cpoa@cpoa.org or call (916) 263-0541 as soon as possible to make the substitution. Note: Substitutions with varying membership status may incur additional registration fees.

What should I do if I have already registered but never received a confirmation?

What if I lose my badge?

Just ask one of the CPOA staff members at the Registration Desk to reprint your badge.

Is there a hotel I should contact?

There are several companies who may call you asking to assist with your hotel reservations. Please do not use these companies; they do not represent CPOA or the hotel.

How do I make hotel arrangements? Are there a group rate?
