Course Description:
The Legislature was certainly busy in 2023! This course informs you of changes in statutory law enacted in the current California legislative session that will impact law enforcement in 2024 and beyond. The course also brings you the latest court cases from CA DOJ that impact law enforcement. Take home a CPOA Legislative Update Digest after the class for quick reference year-round access to 2024 laws!

Cancellation Policy:

Effective 8/1/18

All cancellations and substitutions MUST be in writing and directed to the CPOA Training Manager @ training@cpoa.org.  All refunds will be processed within 30 days from the written date of the cancellation request.

Cancellations made 30 calendar days or more from the first day of your registered course will be refunded minus a $30 cancellation fee.

Cancellations made 29 calendar days to 10 calendar days from the first day of your registered course will receive a 50% refund.

Cancellations made 9 calendar days or less from the first day of your registered course are NOT eligible to receive a refund.

*Registrants who cannot attend a course are strongly encouraged to find a substitution.

CPOA encourages you to make a substitution if a student cannot attend the course; substitutions will be accepted prior to the course in writing and on-site.

Instructor:

Shaun Rundle – Executive Director, CPOA

Shaun is CPOA’s Executive Director, and lobbied bills affecting the law enforcement profession on behalf of CPOA from 2014 to 2022. He tracked and analyzed legislation affecting California law enforcement, represented CPOA before the Legislature and provides direct staff support for CPOA’s 12 Regions. With direction from the Board of Directors and Law & Legislation Committee, Shaun conveyed the association’s positions on hundreds of bills each year. As Region contact, he coordinates meetings and trainings for the Regions across the state. He comes primarily from a legislative and nonprofit background and earned his B.A. in Government & International Relations from Sacramento State.
