The purpose of the CPOA Leadership Development Course for Supervisors is to cultivate future leaders in law enforcement.

The primary focus of this leadership course will be to assist current supervisors with preparing to be managers. It will include understanding the role, developing a plan to develop themselves, and preparing for the promotional process.

Understanding how to lead people in such a dynamic industry is a skill set that needs continual intentionality and effort by Police Managers. This course will give students the foundation to prepare for this challenge.

Instructor:

Captain Miguel Pacheco, Turlock Police Department

Captain  Pacheco has been in law enforcement for 25 years, and in management for the past 11, where he currently oversees Investigations, Professional Standards, Training and Medial Relations. His career includes Field Operations including gang suppression and SWAT.

He holds a Bachelors in Public Safety Administration and Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership, is a graduate of POST Command College, FBI National Academy, POST Executive Development and FBI’s Leadership Trilogy Series. Miguel is also an Academy Instructor in Leadership and Ethics, Guest University Lecturer on Leadership topics in Criminal Justice

Cancellation Policy:

Effective 8/1/18

All cancellations and substitutions MUST be in writing and directed to the CPOA Training Department at training@cpoa.org. All refunds will be processed within 30 days from the written date of the cancellation request.

Cancellations made 30 calendar days or more from the first day of your registered course will be refunded minus a $100 cancellation fee.

Cancellations made 29 calendar days to 10 calendar days from the first day of your registered course will receive a 50% refund.

Cancellations made 9 calendar days or less from the first day of your registered course are NOT eligible to receive a refund.

*Registrants who cannot attend a course are strongly encouraged to find a substitution.

Substitution Policy:

CPOA encourages you to make a substitution if a student cannot attend the course; substitutions will be accepted prior to the course in writing.
