This course will teach sexual assault and child abuse investigation, as well as report writing and courtroom testimony to patrol officers, field training officers, detectives and sergeants.
Jodi Link, Deputy District Attorney – Los Angeles County
Deputy District Attorney Jodi Michelle Link graduated from USC undergraduate and Tulane Law School in 1995. She joined the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office in 1996 and has spent the last 21 years prosecuting Sex Crimes, Domestic Violence and Child Abuse. She spent most of her career at the Torrance Branch Office Victim Impact Unit prosecuting those crimes and supervised the unit from 2006-2010. Next, she went on to run the Victim Impact Unit at the Compton Branch Office for 4 years, supervising the prosecution of those crimes as well as Human Trafficking. For the last three years she has been the Assistant Head Deputy of the Sex Crimes Division.
Additionally, Jodi is POST certified and is a legal instructor for both the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. She teaches sexual assault and child abuse investigation, as well as report writing and courtroom testimony to patrol deputies, field training officers, detectives and sergeants, as well as to newly hired deputy district attorneys. Jodi has spoken throughout the state on the investigation and prosecution of dating violence, sexual assault and sexually motivated homicides.
Jennifer Cops, Deputy District Attorney – Los Angeles County
Jennifer Hall Cops is a Deputy District Attorney in the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. She joined the D.A.’s office in 2007 and is currently assigned to the Sex Crimes Division. She is an instructor for both the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the L.A.P.D. on topics including the Investigation of Child Abuse, Case Investigation, Trial Preparation, Search Warrants and Investigation of Sexual Assault. Prior to becoming a District Attorney, Jennifer spent several years representing peace officers from agencies throughout Southern California in job-related civil ligation. Jennifer has a B.A. in History and a minor in English Literature from U.C.L.A. She earned her J.D. from the University of San Diego. Jennifer is also an Adjunct Professor at California State University, Long Beach, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses on Criminal Law, Criminal Courts and Criminal Procedure.
Guillermo Santiso, Deputy District Attorney – Los Angeles County
LA County DDA Guillermo Santiso is currently assigned to the Sex Crimes Division, Human Sex Trafficking section where he is responsible for filing and prosecuting cases involving Human Sex Trafficking of adults and minors. Additionally, DDA Santiso provides training to law enforcement and deputy district attorneys regarding investigating and prosecuting these cases.
