Course Description:

Transformational Leadership provides an approach that causes change in individuals and social systems. This course will synthesize the instructor’s training, education and experience to convey information in a manner that will resonate with others. Participants are required to participate in open dialogue and discussion related to effective and ineffective leadership practices that can build or destroy one’s credibility. The course contains contemporary  leadership methods designed to bring clarity associated to the characteristics of a
Transformational Leader. When Transformational Leadership traits are practiced, leaders become change agents. In other words, they maximize their potential and the potential of others.
At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to:
• Describe the four components of Transformational Leadership
• Identify areas from ‘within’ in order to maximize potential
• Define what effective leadership means to one
• Develop new ways to practice, practice, practice effective leadership traits
• Participants will understand how to affect change
• Students will be better equipped to transform themselves and followers into leaders

The easiest way to register a group of individuals is using our online system. To choose group registration, click the registration link at the top of this page. Login to our system or create an account. Then, on the registration page, click the second blue button indicating group registration for your agency. On the following screen, click the green button that says “Register an Attendee” and search for attendees you wish to register. Follow the prompts to complete the registration process.

Cancellation Policy:

Effective 8/1/18

All cancellations and substitutions MUST be in writing and directed to the CPOA Training Coordinator @ lserpico@cpoa.org.  All refunds will be processed within 30 days from the written date of the cancellation request.

Cancellations made 30 calendar days or more from the first day of your registered course will be refunded minus a $30 cancellation fee.

Cancellations made 29 calendar days to 10 calendar days from the first day of your registered course will receive a 50% refund.

Cancellations made 9 calendar days or less from the first day of your registered course are NOT eligible to receive a refund.

*Registrants who cannot attend a course are strongly encouraged to find a substitution.

Substitution Policy:

CPOA encourages you to make a substitution if a student cannot attend the course; substitutions will be accepted prior to the course in writing and on-site.

Instructor:

    Lieutenant Robert Patton

Lieutenant Rob Patton has been with the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department for 20 years.  During that time he has held a variety of assignments on the front line, as a supervisor and currently a manager.  Lieutenant Patton’s experience includes custody, patrol, detectives, gangs, fugitive apprehension, SWAT, detective bureau supervisor, internal affairs and watch commander.  Lieutenant Patton created and developed an internal leadership development program within his organization, and he also possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership.  In addition, Lieutenant Patton graduated from the Sherman Block Leadership Institute and LAPD’s West Point Leadership Academy.
