Published quarterly by the California Peace Officers’ Association, the Journal of California Law Enforcement contains technical and scholarly articles on timely subjects written by professionals from the law enforcement, judicial and educational fields.

- Submitted articles must be previously unpublished and cannot be in consideration for publication elsewhere.
- Authors should follow APA style, specifically when citing sources. For more information, visit www.apastyle.org.
- Accepted articles will be between 1,500 and 3,000 words, single spaced in a Microsoft Word document.
- A broad range of topics are accepted. Should you have questions regarding whether a topic is appropriate for this publication, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
All submitted articles are reviewed by a committee of law enforcement professionals on the closest deadline date. The review process typically takes two – three weeks. Decisions will be communicated to authors via email.
Upon acceptance, authors will be required to sign a consent and release form prior to publication. All articles must be accompanied by a 300 dpi photo in jpeg format and a brief biography of the author(s).
Each published author will receive one complimentary paper copy of the journal and can choose to have complimentary copies mailed to supervisors.
