CPOA partnered with the California Affiliated Risk Management Authorities (CARMA) and Tombstone Courage, LLC for a one-day wellness summit.
The event will have industry-leading subject matter experts presenting the following topics:
• Part 1: Longevity for Public Safety Professionals-Dr. Graham Simpson
First responders face unique health risks due to traumatic incidents, poor diet, lack of sleep, and stress exposure. First responders have some of the highest rates of heart disease, diabetes, and alcoholism. You can reverse this by proactively learning about metabolic testing and taking control of your health, you can extend your career and improve your quality of life, avoiding becoming another statistic. Dr. Simpson has practiced medicine on 4 continents and knows how to reverse the deadly diseases that are killing first responders.
• Part 2: Mission Ready: Nutrition and Strength & Conditioning For the Everyday First Responder-Rebecca Rouse and Joel Del Rosario
Fueling principles for job performance, wellness, and longevity, focusing on diet, hydration, and movement quality. This workshop, led by Rebecca Rouse and Joel Del Rosario, covers job-specific training, mobility, range of motion, and breathwork for brain-body connection and nervous system regulation. It’s designed for responders of all fitness levels to improve strength, resilience, and overall health.
• Part 3: Mindsets for Victory: Chief Roger will talk about two major life-altering incidents which dramatically impacted his life as well as an officer-involved shooting that occurred in his community which resulted in two of his officers being struck by gunfire. Chief Schei will explain how the principles of Extreme Ownership have shaped his life and his leadership style and how the Mindsets for Victory are the path for healing and growth. Roger Schei is the Chief of Police for the Pocatello Police Department in Eastern Idaho with over 30-years of law enforcement experience.
• Part 4: Moral Injury & Post Traumatic Growth: Dr. Shauna “Doc” Springer, PhD is a highly sought after speaker and a nationally recognized expert on the topics of stress management, PTSI, and moral injury in the first responder and military veteran community. Cancellation Policy
Effective 8/1/18
All cancellations and substitutions MUST be in writing and directed to the CPOA Training Coordinator cpoa@cpoa.org. All refunds will be processed within 30 days from the written date of the cancellation request.
Cancellations made 30 calendar days or more from the first day of your registered course will be refunded minus a $30 cancellation fee.
Cancellations made 29 calendar days to 10 calendar days from the first day of your registered course will receive a 50% refund.
Cancellations made 9 calendar days or less from the first day of your registered course are NOT eligible to receive a refund.
*Registrants who cannot attend a course are strongly encouraged to find a substitution.
Substitution Policy
CPOA encourages you to make a substitution if a student cannot attend the course; substitutions will be accepted prior to the course in writing and on-site.

CPOA will not register anyone for a class unless payment has been received in full. If you are not able to provide payment with registration you may provide a credit card to hold the seat. However, all students must be paid in full 10 days prior to the class. If payment is not received and a card has been given to hold the seat, it will be charged.
